Chromatic Alterations of Diatonic Pre-Dominants

Each of the exercises below shows a diatonic pre-dominant chord. Identify each chord by writing the appropriate Roman numeral on the line below. Then, convert each chord to a chromatic pre-dominant by adding the accidentals to match the provided chord symbol. (Note: Do not change the locations of the four noteheads. Just add accidentals as needed.)

Swapping Pre-Dominant Chords

Each of the exercises below shows the same progression with a blank space for a pre-dominant chord. Fill each blank with the chord indicated by the chord symbols below. Finally, draw a box around the symbol for any pre-dominant chord that incorporates #[latex]\hat4[/latex]. (Note: The first six exercises are in minor, the next six are in major.)
