Be Prepared for Your Nurse Practitioner Clinical Readiness Exam was produced with support from SUNY Brockport and Milne Open Textbooks, a Milne Library, SUNY Geneseo publishing initiative offering a collaborative model for publishing open textbooks. The development of the text was supported by an Academic Innovation Award from the SUNY Provost, SUNY OER Services and the Innovative Instruction Research Council. Dr. Mary Jo Orzech and Dr. Logan Rath, OER and Health Sciences librarians at the Drake Memorial Library at SUNY Brockport provided additional support and direction. Critical to the success of this approach is including mechanisms to ensure that open textbooks produced with the community are high quality and meet the needs of all students and learners.

It takes a village to produce an ambitious project such as this; we are deeply grateful for the support of a generous community that came together to edit this text:

  • Zoe Behrman
  • Michael Freborg
  • Christina Graham
  • Emma Grant
  • Kim Krause
  • Kelsey Nakaishi

Review Statement

Each main section of this text was reviewed by an expert in the field, as well as reviewed in full by an experienced educator-practitioner. The reviews were structured around considerations of the intended audience of the book, and examined the comprehensiveness, accuracy, and relevance of content, as well as longevity and cultural relevance. Further review by the editors and the project manager focused on clarity, consistency, organization structure flow, and grammatical errors. Changes suggested by the reviewers were incorporated by section authors.

Editor Elizabeth Heavey and the publishing team would like to thank all authors and peer reviewers for the time, care, and commitment they contributed to the project. We recognize that contributing and peer reviewing is a generous act of service on their part. This book would not be the robust, valuable resource that it is if not for their participation.
